In 1978, I graduated with my Diploma of Swedish Massage - then upgraded in 2003.  It has been a wonderful modality to help many family and friends while enhancing my sense of touch. In 2004 I gained a diploma with the Hellerwork school of Structural Integration (SI).  The Hellerwork SI Practitioner training was one of the most challenging yet rewarding, inspiring and satisfying things I have done.  Many years later I still marvel at the wonderful transformations that one session can bring.

Structural Integration is a good prescription for people with chronic pain in their body. There can be pain stored in the body that is not felt as pain.  During the myofascial restructuring the tissue stays relaxed, it may be sensation-full as the fascial adhesions or scarring release, leaving the tissue re-hydrated and renewed.  Clients say,"It hurts so good!'  

The body - and the neuromyofascial web in particular (extra cellular matrix or living matrix) - is a single connected unity in which the muscles and bones float.

Each Hellerwork SI session combines three integrative approaches to achieve amazing long-lasting results.

Slow, Deep 3D Myofascial Restructuring

The hands on bodywork, relieves tension, stress and pain by working 3D through the body, restructuring the neuromyofascial web, restoring mobility between muscle layers, enhancing efficient movement between joints and rebalancing the body within gravity.

Just as a good healing diet can clean the organs & cogent psychotherapy can clean the mind, good SI bodywork cleans our moving self, improves proprioception, expanding the space within.

Movement Awareness and Re-Education

Movement re-education is explored by gathering information and noticing how the body is now, in this moment, in stillness and motion.  How establishing better functional patterns of body usage within gravity - in turn prevents the return of tension to the body.

Aligning the physical structure under gravity can open up the individual’s potential.  We are emotional beings with attitudes, belief systems and behaviour patterns that are expressed through our physical body, usually in motion, e-motion.  Clients often report changes after their first session, walking more easily, feeling greater self confidence, and an improved ability to handle life’s challenges. 

The release and rebalancing of your structure will continue between sessions.  Your body continues to integrate your newfound awareness, new relationship with gravity, new way of being and new sense of “excellence with ease.”

Applied Body Specific Sessions

Individual sessions aimed at working on a specific areas of the body.  Applying SI techniques to relieve pain and dysfunction in specific areas of the body, feeling fluid and light with effortless movement.


The Hellerwork SI Series is one of the most significant means to keep your body enduringly youthful and vitally functional.   Each of the 10 x 90min sessions consists of a combination of the three integrative approaches mentioned above.  You will discover, effortless alignment, presence, standing centred in your strength and awakening to a new, inspired, more spacious you.
